The Business of You

Information

HSBC asked us to redefine their online banking service for global, connected and ambitious consumers. I led an interdisciplinary design process that developed our core concept — The Business of You. This concept was developed from research and consumer insight, helping us to define the design principles for our solution. We designed an online banking experience that makes the little things easier and helps you make the most of the bigger picture.

As part of our research, we identified two user focus areas: Task management or tracking & planning. Our solution is a highly personalized experience that can adapt to these different mindsets.


Design approach

A seamless, consistent yet adaptive banking experience.

Our approach is to design for ‘touch’ first, and adapt these paradigms to every device – taking advantage of features and behaviors unique to each. Progressive for the time, the design approach featured a customizable tile-based dashboard.

Mobile web and apps should be consistent. Additional advanced features (which have now become commonplace), such as biometric single-sign-in were delivered through apps.
